Quick Overview

Straw Wattles are an economical option for erosion and sediment control.

OR

Product Description

Storm Wattles minimize erosion and sediment runoff. Some times referred to as fiber rolls or fiber logs, Storm Wattles can be used instead of silt fence to reduce erosion control at construction sites. The wattles stop sediment and other debris from entering retention ponds, lakes and other bodies of water. They are made with wheat straw, and bound into a tight tubular roll. When they are placed on the face of slopes, they intercept stormwater runoff, reduce its flow velocity, release the runoff as sheet flow, and provides removal of sediment from the runoff. Storm Wattles are environmentally friendly and can be left in place permanently. Installation is quick and easy, simply dig a shallow trench and stake it in place. It requires no maintenance or upkeep. Storm Wattles are less intrusive and conspicuous than silt fences, and are perfect for use in ongoing residential and commercial construction projects. These units are ideal for fire burn rehabilitation, timber harvest erosion control, and re-vegetation projects.
